Picture inside the Chinese Ultra Bee Charger
As you may already know ultra bees sold in the US and abroad have a charger that can handle 120-240v input.
Unfortunately for bikes purchased through Ali Baba from China, the chargers can only deal with a 240v input requiring the use of a transformer to run it off 120v.
I opened up the unit and snapped a picture, perhaps someone else can do the same for their 120v version and we can see if any simple modifications can be done to get the 240v variant to run on 120. Being an ME I couldn’t figure it out but maybe someone else can.
I ended up splicing a Nema 14-50 to a C13 cable and I’m now running the charger directly off a 14-50 plug I have in my garage for an EV but running off 120 without the transformer really would be ideal.
